Please visit my other blog!

Hi, folks!  I’ve pretty much abandoned this blog and my efforts to redesign it (for now, anyways).  But please be sure to visit my other blog, Macro Man Jr. Blog, or my company’s developer’s blog, PolyKhrome Blog.  I update them much more often, and I think you’ll like what you see in the coming months.  If I perhaps come back and revise this one later (because I still like having this blog), I’ll let you know!  Thanks!

Okay, I’ve been away, but a redesign’s on the way…

It’s been a while since I’ve been back.  I told you I’ve been really business!  Hahaha!  Anyways, I’m turning this blog site into my animation blog site...even more!  Hahaha!  I’ve been using my Blogger account for most of the reason I started this one.  But never fear–I’m still using this account.  I rededicating this blog site of mine to my animation efforts involved with my indie work (including many of my in-game animations), and giving it a makeover.

I’ve been using WordPress a lot lately, with a new blog site started called Operation Moogle.  If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, you’ll want to really check it out, because I think it may interest you.  Anyways, I’ll rejuvenate this blog site, and take advantage of it being my designated place for animation goodness–of both the 2D and 3D variety!  I’ll talk animation, share animation,  eat, breath and sleep animation on this blog.

I should also mention that I’m working on a full website for my main indie game company, Macro Man Jr. Studio, and another website for my “child company” (it’s funny I’ve got one of those already!).  Since this dedicated “child company” will be heavily involved animation, I will keep you posted on it…as soon as I develop the first site, that is.

In other little bits of news, I’m in the middle of moving to New York, so I’ll be busy looking for a new place to stay there, and then with the actual move itself.  Sooner or a later, I’ll need my own dedicated building for my studio, but one step at a time.

I’ve been REEEEAAAALLLY busy, but I’m producing more posts!

Well, the title’s pretty self-explanatory.  I’ve had my hands full with developing projects, and I have all kinds of goodies planned to be posted here soon.  I plan to have some downloads available on a Downloads page I’m adding here.  I won’t spill the beans on them yet, but just know that I am working hard on projects that I will be posting about soon here.  I’m also documenting a particular project for to share how I’m going about it.

Anyways, thanks to all my readers (however few you are), and thanks to those participants of my poll.  It’s nice to see some results, and I’ll definitely use the data, to further determine what some of my aim should be concerning possible tutorials (well, I call them “sharetorials” because I’m not really planning to teach folks as much as I plan to just show them what I do and probably make some suggestions).  I’m trying to take advantage of an opportunity I’ve got to take care of some work, so that’s what taking me a while.  But I have so much I want to do with this blog, and I’m constantly keeping this blog in mind as I work, so when I do get around to more posts soon, I’ll dump them by the loads.

Thanks for checking me out so far.  I’ll really give you something to Subscribe to pretty soon.  Keep exploring!

A Load of Stuff Coming…

I am making a lot of stuff to post up.  I’m making a tutorial, more illustrations, and testing some concept vehicle designs (both illustrations and 3D renderings) I would like to share with you when I’m done.  Meanwhile, check out my poll and let me know which software you use the most for digital painting, just for a little fun to see what most of you prefer using.

That is all.  Keep your eyes peeled.  Keep exploring!

Hi! Welcome to my blog!

Hi!  My name’s Brian.  In this blog, I’ll be dealing a lot achieving nice 3D graphic effects, especially on average computers like mine.  For the most part, I want to address areas where I personally couldn’t really find much help on, and went to find out some answers for myself.  There are plenty of tutorials on the basics of using various 3D graphics programs, and I will provide my listing of my personal favorites.  I in particular use the 3D program Blender, so most of my tutorials deal with Blender.  I occasionally use other programs, but I like to be minimalistic.

Some of my tutorials topics will include some tips on concept vehicle design, creating Japanese anime-style characters. incorporating 3D-rendered elements into a concept art piece, achieving some rendering-expensive looks without using rendering-expensive methods, and whatever else topic of my particular interests in that I would like to share.  These probably won’t be for everybody, but I’d like to think that I’ll have something in them all that someone can take away from them.  These are not so much as tutorials as they are “sharetorials”–I’m more sharing some of my ideas with you rather than really leading you in tutorage.

I’ll take questions and try to answer them the best I can, but I don’t claim to be an expert or professional.  I’m just a nobody.  I just have a lot of curiosity, a lot of passion for figuring out things the best I can, and a lot of jazz playing in my headphones.  Since I can’t really find some of this stuff online, I’ll just make it.

Anyways, if you have any suggestions for a tutorial or questions about how I would try to do something, just drop me a Comment.  I also have another blog at MacroManJr.blogspot.com where I tend to cover computer graphics in general, and I can be reached on Twitter at twitter.com/#!/MangaFox and though I don’t use it much, I have a Skype account: cosmosboy87. As a last resort, if I’m just THAT busy for some reason, then you can e-mail me at macromanjr@gmail.com (just put “Hey, MMJ!” in the Subject textbox when you send me an e-mail, so that your post can catch my eye better).  I will be glad to take a look at them and see what I can do.

I love coming up with my own ideas, and using things at my creative disposal, so keep an eye out for new stuff. I’m constantly working on projects, constantly exploring and learning new things, and always brimming to share, so you may want to Subscribe to my blog to stay updated. And I’m putting up stuff everywhere–deviantART, CG Channel, ConceptArt.org, and even Etsy–so I’ll post updates on my posts on other places on the web. I be everywhere, man!

Well, thank you for reading this post, and as I like to say, keep exploring!
